Tailored to the job.
True to the facts.

A job hunt app for people putting their real experience forward. Your own Claude finds jobs that fit, tailors each resume to the job from facts you’ve confirmed, and gets you ready for the interview.

Free and open source · Uses your own Claude plan

What it does

  • Tailors every resume to the job, using only facts you’ve confirmed, then checks each line against them.
  • Runs on your own Claude, signed in as you, so runs count against your plan. Factwright never sees your login.
  • Keeps your job hunt on your computer. Turn on sync and it’s encrypted before it leaves, with a key we never see, so our servers store it only in a form they can’t read.

What it never does

  • Apply for you. Factwright drafts and you decide. You send every application yourself.
  • Make things up. No fact, no line. If a job wants something you haven’t done, it stays off your resume.
  • Help during an interview. It gets you ready beforehand. In the room, it’s all you.
The Factwright app: a list of jobs with their status and fit, the Lumen Health job open with a Run button for each task, and Claude’s panel at the bottom, where your own Claude Code writes an interview prep sheet and asks you one question along the way.

How it works

Set it up once. Then every job is a few clicks.

Factwright does the busywork of a job hunt with your Claude: the reading, the tailoring, the checking and the tracking. You make the calls.

  1. 1

    Tell it about you

Share your old resumes, your LinkedIn profile saved as a PDF, screenshots of your work, and everything you’d say about yourself in your own words. Then say what you’re after: titles, pay, where, the kinds of company, and your deal-breakers.

About 20 minutes, saved as you go, so you can stop any time.

Getting started in Factwright: three files shared, some notes in your own words, and what you’re looking for.
  2. 2

    Confirm your fact bank

Your Claude turns all of it into a fact bank: your experience as short, checkable claims, each marked unconfirmed. Then it interviews you, a few questions at a time, to confirm each one and fill the gaps.

Nothing goes on a resume until you’ve said it’s true.

Claude asks what your part in a project was. Your answer confirms the claim, with how sure it is and what to say and not say.
  3. 3

    Find jobs that fit

Point it at Hacker News’s monthly “Who is hiring?” thread, a company’s job board or a careers page, or paste any posting. Every job gets scored against your facts, and a fit check adds what people say about working there.

A salary check estimates pay a posting hides, and an unmask finds the company behind a recruiter’s post.

A fit check: 86 out of 100, strong, split into work, role, stack and requirements, plus what people say about the company.
  4. 4

Click Run, and watch your Claude work

Every job has a Run button for each task. Your own Claude Code does the work in a panel you can watch and type into, so you can always see what it’s doing. Keep working while it runs.

    • WorkingClaude is on it. You’ll hear when it needs you.
    • Needs your answerThe panel comes back with Claude’s question.
    • DoneThe results land in the job, ready to open.
A job’s Run buttons, with a tailored resume running in Claude’s panel. Claude asks about something the job wants that isn’t in your fact bank yet.
  5. 5

    Apply, and keep track

Resumes come out as PDF or Word in your templates, filling the pages you chose and fact-checked line by line. You send them yourself. Then track every status, call and interview, and see what needs you next.

Turn on sync to see it all on your phone.

A finished resume that passed its fact check, and the job list on a phone.

The fact bank

Every line traces back to a fact.

Your fact bank holds what’s true about you: what you did, how far it got, and how to say it. Every resume line and answer is built from it, and before a resume is done, a second pass checks each line against it.

The number, the verb and the claim all match.

  • Numbers match. Every figure is the one on file.
  • Verbs fit. “Launched” only for what shipped, “led” only for what you led.
  • Hedged where it should be. Less certain facts say “about” or “most”.
  • Nothing confidential. Names you list, such as customers, never appear.

Run with your Claude

Ready for every part of the hunt.

Factwright gives your Claude a skill for each task, grounded in your facts. Most start from a Run button on the job, and the results show up there as documents you can read.

  • Find jobs

Reads a hiring thread, a job board or a careers page, and ranks what fits your criteria.

  • Fit check

Scores a job against your facts, from strong to skip, with what people say about it.

  • Unmask a listing

Finds the real company behind a recruiter’s post, and the direct way to apply.

  • Salary check

Estimates the pay when a posting doesn’t say, with sources and how sure it is.

  • Tailored resume

A resume for the job in your templates, with every line traced to a fact.

  • Application questions

Answers to the form in your own voice, short and ready to paste.

  • Who to message

Three to five people worth reaching, any warm path, and drafts you send yourself.

  • Interview prep

Likely questions answered from your facts, stories to tell, and questions to ask.

For anything else about your search, just ask: Claude’s panel is your own Claude Code.

Templates

Two clean looks, or bring your own.

Start with Classic or Minimal. Or show Factwright a resume whose look you like, and your own Claude makes a template in that look. Whatever the look, the words come from your facts, and every resume fills the pages you chose, with no half-empty last page.

  • The Classic template, filled in for a made-up product manager

    Classic

Traditional and all serif, in black and white.

  • The Minimal template, filled in for a made-up product manager

    Minimal

Quiet and airy, with gray headings and no color.

  • Your own

Its layout, fonts, colors and spacing, never its words. Private, on your computer.

Every resume comes as a PDF or a Word file. One-column looks read best in applicant systems.

Your Claude, your files

Your own Claude does the work, where you can see it.

Factwright doesn’t have an AI of its own. It starts the Claude Code you installed and signed in to, unmodified, and hands it Factwright’s skills for that run only.

  1. On your computer

Factwright, your Claude Code, and your job hunt as plain files in a folder you own. Claude works only inside that folder, with no command line.

  2. With Anthropic, as you

Claude Code talks to Anthropic under your own account, so runs count against your Claude plan or API key. Factwright never sees, stores or passes your login.

  3. Synced, if you want it

Turn on sync to see your hunt on your other computers and your phone. It’s encrypted before it leaves your computer, with a key we never see, so our servers store it only in a form they can’t read. It stays off until you turn it on.

  • Asks before it browses

Postings are untrusted text, so by default Claude asks before it opens a web page. Boards on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Gem are read without asking.

  • Never signs in to LinkedIn

Share LinkedIn’s own PDF or data export instead, and your account stays out of it.

  • You send everything

Factwright drafts and you decide. It never applies or messages anyone for you.

  • Yours to take

Your files are plain text, PDF and Word. With sync on, download it all as a ZIP.

Open source

Anyone can check what it does.

Factwright is fully open source: all of its code is under the AGPL-3.0. So you don’t have to take our word for what it does with your job hunt: you, or anyone you trust, can read every line.

  • See what your Claude gets. How Factwright starts your Claude Code, the tools it hands over, and the one folder Claude works in.
  • Check the encryption. How sync locks your job hunt on your computer, and what our servers can and can’t see.
  • Build it yourself. You can build the app from this code, change it, and share what you change.

Questions

Good to know.

What do I need?

A Mac or a Windows PC, and Claude Code signed in with your Claude plan or an API key. Factwright checks your setup when it opens and walks you through anything that’s missing.

What does it cost?

Factwright is free. The work Claude does counts against your own Claude plan or API key. If it helps your job hunt, you can buy its maker a coffee, but you never have to.

Does Factwright see my Claude login?

No. It starts the Claude Code you installed, as it is, and never reads, stores or passes your login. If you’re signed out, it tells you how to sign in yourself.

Who can see my job hunt?

Only you and your own Claude. Your fact bank, resumes and documents are plain files on your computer, and Claude Code reads them under your own Anthropic account when it works on them. If you turn on sync, they’re encrypted on your computer before they leave it, so our servers keep your job hunt only in a form they can’t read. On your phone, it opens in your browser with code our server sends, as our privacy policy explains.

Is Factwright open source?

Yes. All of its code is open, under the AGPL-3.0: the app, the skills your Claude gets, the web view and the sync server. It’s on GitHub, along with how its encryption works.

Will it make things up?

It’s built not to. Claims stay unconfirmed until you check them, resumes and answers use only confirmed facts, and every resume gets a second pass that checks each line against your fact bank. When a job asks for something you haven’t done, Claude asks you instead of guessing, and remembers your answer.

Does it apply to jobs for me?

No. Factwright gets everything ready: the resume, the answers, the messages. You read them, change what you like, and send them yourself.

Will it help me during an interview?

No. Before a call or an interview, it writes you a prep sheet: likely questions, answered from your facts, and the stories worth telling. In the interview itself, it’s all you.

Can I use my own resume template?

Yes. Show Factwright a resume whose look you like, as a PDF or a picture (PNG, JPEG or WebP), and your own Claude makes a template in that look: the layout, fonts, colors and spacing, never the words. You see it printed, with your name on it, before you pick it, and it stays private, on your computer. Save a Word file as a PDF first. A template another Factwright user shares with you can be imported too. A template changes how your resume looks, never what it says: apart from its section headings, every word comes from your facts.

Where does it look for jobs?

Hacker News’s monthly “Who is hiring?” thread, company job boards on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Gem, careers pages, and public listings such as Y Combinator’s Work at a Startup and Wellfound. You can also paste any posting, or add a job by hand.

Can it use my LinkedIn?

Yes, without signing in. Save your profile with LinkedIn’s own “Save to PDF”, or download your data from LinkedIn. Factwright reads your profile and connections from it, so Claude can spot warm paths into a company.

Is Factwright made by Anthropic?

No. Factwright is an independent app by Neatifai LLC, Steve Hillyer’s company, and isn’t affiliated with Anthropic. It works with your own Claude account.

Start with what’s true.
